Mindfulness in Nature
Immersing oneself in nature has many potential health benefits.
Service Description
Research has shown that even short periods in nature may reduce blood pressure, lower stress, improve metabolic health, lower blood sugar levels, improve concentration and memory, boost the immune system, and lift depression. In this workshop, we'll engage in sensory and breathing practices. In order to engage fully with this workshop, you will need access to "nature," whether that's through a wooded backyard, a safe local park, or your myriad of house plants. We will close with a guided "tree-laxation" meditation. You’ll leave with a plan for how to incorporate the practice into your daily life. The entire experience is designed to shift the nervous system from fight/flight/freeze/fawn to rest/digest and foster connection to the greater world.
