Moving Mindfully
In practicing mindful movement we bring our awareness to the mind-body connection.
Service Description
Physical conditions impact our mental health and vice versa. Many common conditions, such as depression and digestive issues, are exacerbated by dissociation within body, mind, and spirit. Interoception, or the capacity to sense what is happening inside ourselves, is a key skill for decision making, empathy, problem solving, self regulation, and resilience. By learning how to move mindfully we can positively shift physiology, emotions, and thoughts, as well as strengthen the connection of all the layers of our being. In this workshop we'll explore the mind-body connection through language, breathwork, yoga, qigong, and guided meditation. All movement may be done standing or seated and will be adapted to your specific needs. I am a trauma informed, trauma sensitive guide. We will discuss how trauma impacts the body and how movement can foster help with healing. If you have any specific concerns, please contact Sarah prior to registering.
